400. MERLOT “Eagle Peak”, Fetzer
This Merlot is medium-bodied and ruby in color. The flavors
edge strongly toward black cherry and herb, with a hint of
vanilla and toasty oak spice on a light, open-textured frame.
It finishes smoothly and elegantly.

401. MERLOT “Sonoma Cask”, Sebastiani
A wine with a rich, ripe character and expressive flavors of
plum and blueberry with hints of olive, herbs and mocha. Aging
in French and American oak produced softness and toasty oak tones.

402. MERLOT, Dry Creek
Inviting aromas of fresh black cherries and ripe plums,
with bouquet notes of vanilla oak and cedar. Flavors of
cloves and blackberry sorbet are tightly woven into a
medium-bodied wine with balanced hints of sweet oak.

403. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Ironstone
This rich wine includes flavors of spicy cherry, hints of
herbs, cassis, currant, vanilla and eucalyptus. Medium
in body with oak nuances, it continues to a silky, smooth finish.

404. MERLOT, Ironstone
The rich jewel-like color, deep bouquet and wild berry
flavors, are well proportioned in this soft, round wine.
It has intriguing hints of soft plum, vanilla and cedar
spice, which all give way to the flavor of juicy black cherries.

405. MERLOT, Hamptons, Long Island, Wolffer 1998
This full-bodied Merlot is a traditionally crafted, European-style,
complex wine, which presents dark red in color, and bursting with
aromas of ripe berries, vanilla, and milk chocolate. The flavor is
loaded with dried fruit and soft, velvety tannins. Its long finish
displays hints of tobacco, spice and toasted oak.

406. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Geyser Peak
A rich wine with berry and cassis characters, enhanced by
cedary, vanillin oak, dominate the nose. The palate has
beautiful depth and structure, with the flavors
following through to the finish.

407. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Burgess
An excellent California wine from the Napa Valley region which
is rich in body, yet delicate and complex in flavor. This is an
interesting wine with plum, anise, smoke and spice qualities. It
finishes with a strong licorice edge, and some rustic tannins.

408. SHIRAZ, McWilliam’s Hanwood, Australia
This wonderful Shiraz, presents itself with vibrant crimson hues. Its
intense bouquet is full of cherry and plum with cinnamon and vanilla
oak notes. The palate is soft, rich and persistent with black cherry
and forest berry fruit flavors, with subtle vanilla and coffee bean
overtones, with a hint of spice on the finish.

409. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Estancia
This full-bodied cabernet is rich, well structured, and classically
styled. It has enticing ripe cherry aromas, and this wine’s warm
plum, black currant and vanilla flavors are round and easy to like.
Hints of chocolate are blended with the tannins, completing with
a nice finish.

410. CAVE DI MOLETO, Pieve di San Michele 1997
This Super Piemonte wine is a special blend of organically farmed
Barbera, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The color is ruby red
with a rich, wide bouquet with a clear sensation of ripe fruit. The
taste is of vanilla and spices with a smooth oak finish.

411. PETITE SYRAH, Stags’ Leap
A full-fruited and very robust wine, packed with rugged tannins
and a very fragrant bouquet. Flavors include ripe plum and
spicy berries, with peppery overtones, concluding with spicy finish.

412. CHIANTI RISERVA DUCALE, Ruffino
This complex, full-bodied wine is a truly superior Chianti.
It has penetrating ripe fruit aromas, a velvety texture, a
robust fruity taste with hints of leather and cedar.

413. CHIANTI RISERVA DUCALE “Gold Label”, Ruffino
This compelling wine is a luxurious, mature Chianti. It has a
brilliant, deep garnet color when young, fading to medium garnet
as the wine ages. The ripe, luscious nose shows intriguing hints
of violets and iris, berry fruit, chocolate and smoke. The flavor is
rich, complex and elegant, with excellent fruit-acid balance, with
remarkable depth and length, finishing with a velvety richness.

414. GATTINARA, Travaglini
One of the best, but little known wines of Italy. This is a
medium-bodied wine that displays an earthy horse stable character,
with lovely rose petal and blackberry notes; an exciting combination.
It has a complex, balanced taste, and floats to a delectable finish.

415. ANTONELLI, Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG
Antonelli releases his wine only after 15-18 months in oak. The
wine is capable of long cellar aging and its style is often compared
to its neighbor, Brunello di Montalcino. The color is intense, ruby
red tending towards garnet with a nose of delicate brambleberries.
On the palate, the wine is very big, and spicy.

416. VIGORELLO “Toscana”, San Felice
This rich blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, is the
father of the so-called “Super-Tuscan” wines. There are wonderful
berries, chocolate and cherries on the nose, following through to a
medium to full-bodied palate. Extensive aging imparts a depth and
complexity that underscores the “vigor” of the wine. The finish is full
of fine tannins, with hints of chocolate and vanilla.

417. BAROLO, Nando
This is a rich full-bodied wine that is youthful and robust. The
wine is aged for three years in oak and six months in the bottle,
prior to its release. It has a full, ripe fruit flavor, and a fresh aroma.

418. BAROLO “Serralunga D’Alba”, Fontanafredda 1997
A noteworthy Barolo full of intensity and flavor. It is tough in texture,
with earthy, violet and blackberry aromas and flavors that are
intense, and persist into the finish, ending up smooth and spicy.

419. SHIRAZ, Mad Fish, Australia
This is a fantastic Aussie Shiraz, full of fine peppery robust fruit. It
boasts a saturated ruby/purple color as well as a gorgeously sweet
perfume of blackberry liqueur, licorice, pepper and violets. The
palate is filled with a superb purity of sun-ripened black fruits and
glycerin, with a low acid, plump finish.

420. SANGIOVESE DI ROMAGNA “Riserva”, Umberto Cesari
This selection presents with an intense ruby red color, with a hint
of pomegranate. The aroma is vinous and intense, with a touch of
violet. The flavor has prune character, and is dry, ample, rich
and a little tannic, with a mild oak on the finish.

421. FONTANACCIA, Tenuta di Lucciano 1997
Only produced during the best vintages, this Sangiovese and
Cabernet Sauvignon blend has an intense ruby red color, and
a beautiful bouquet of vanilla oak. Its taste is of chocolate and
dry toasted almonds, with a rich, long finish.

422. CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE, Chateau de Cabrieres
A robust, full-bodied wine that is ripe and rich with a penetrating
bouquet and a robust backbone of flavor and tannin. The flavors
are of intense fruit depth, showing cedar, chocolate, cigar-box, and
herbal black olive notes, with slightly peppery nuances. It has a milk
chocolate character, with very creamy and extremely supple tannins.

425. MERLOT, St. Supéry
A mature medium-bodied graceful Merlot, offering supple texture
enhanced by rich aromas, including ripe berry, toast, vanillin,
cassis and aniseed. The flavors are of a sweet berry, a round
middle and licorice finish.

426. SYRAH, Cavas de Chacras, Argentina
This selection has a deep red color with violet hues. The aroma
naturally translates the flavor of the fruits with notes of complex
spice. Rich and well structured, with soft tannins and a perfectly
balanced finish.

427. CABERNET SAUVIGNON “Vintner’s Collection”, Sterling
Rich and full-bodied, with exceptional varietal character,
this Cabernet Sauvignon has been aged in oak barrels and
offers concentrated berry and plum flavors.

428. MERLOT “Diamond Series – Blue Label”, Francis Ford Coppola
Aromas of berries and blackberry pie on the nose that integrate with
the stylish toasty quality from oak. On the palate, the identifiable
raspberry and dense jammy fruit flavors combine with the wine’s
elegant structure to support the stylish and lengthy finish.

429. LA VITE LUCENTE, Marchesi de Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi
This moderately full-bodied wine has a deep blackish ruby cast
and balanced acidity. Though it may be reserved aromatically,
it is quite flavorful on the palate. It is mildly oaked, firmly
structured and intense, with a sense of leanness through the finish.

430. CHIANTI RISERVA, Duca Sanfelici
This medium to full-bodied Chianti Riserva, is the best of the
vintage. It has aromas of beautiful blackberries and wet
earth, with a hint of fresh mushrooms. The intense fruit
flavors are extremely well integrated with the tannins,
and a just-right note of smoky oak.

431. MERLOT, Blackstone, Napa Valley 1999
This smooth Merlot has forward fruit couched in silky round
tannins. Patient barrel aging further softens the wine, surrounding
the rich, supple fruit with an elegant creaminess, and imparting
a supple toast oak flavor with firm tannins. This is a graceful wine
with complex aromatics, good balance and generous flavor and texture.

432. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Forest Glen
This refined cabernet has bright layers of ripe black cherry,
berry and plum, followed by spice, pepper, and cassis. It
has a nice complexity, in a fresh California style, with gentle
tannins and a soft vanilla oak finish.

433. LE PIETRE SANTAMBROGIO 1997, Aldegheri
This complex red wine, is a blend of several classical Veronese
grapes. Richly flavored with hints of cedar, Le Pietre is
well-balanced with a medium body.

434. AMARONE VALPOLICELLA 1997, Aldegheri
This beautiful red is made from grapes that have been dried
before being pressed, and the wine is aged for 24 months in
oak. It has a deep, full body, with rich, complex flavors of earth,
cedar and tobacco, and comes to a smooth finish.

435. SPARGOLO, Cecchi 1998
This fresh and fruity, 100% Sangiovese wine, is made with
hand-picked grapes. It is a medium-bodied wine, with a berry
and light smoke character, light tannins and a fresh finish.

436. BAROLO, Marchesi di Barolo 1997
This Barolo has wonderful aromas of flowers which rise from the
glass, with ripe berry fruit character and cherry undertones.
Full-bodied and very chewy, with a solid core of fruit and firm,
yet refined tannins.

437. BORDEAUX, Chateau Roquefort
This wine is approachable, and without lightness. The flavor is
fleshy, Merlot-dominated and beautifully sweet flavored, with no
excess of tannins.

438. BARBARESCO, Borgogno 1996
This wine is a gorgeous Barbaresco of high quality and elegance.
It is very rich, with truffle, berry and meat aromas. It is full-bodied,
with silky tannins and firm acidity, and a long finish.

450. BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO, Castello Banfi 1997
This wine has a deep and intense red color. The nose is complex, but
immediately captivating, with scents of chocolate, cigar box, vanilla and
licorice. On the palate these aromas are heightened and lengthened, with
incredible persistence. The flavors are fresh and sweet, with plums, cherries,
blackberry jam, and raspberries. The sensation of sweetness is accentuated,
and the body is muscular and in tone, ready to impress for its power and
softness. The tannins are sweet and soft.

451. BAROLO, “Bricco Francesco” Rocche Costamagna 1996
This is a rich full-bodied wine with an intense ruby red color, and
wonderful aromas, reminiscent of red fruits and violets. The well
structured plum and cherry flavors are well balanced, and in harmony
with the light tannins. This barolo invites you to drink, and is
persistent to the long, smooth finish.

452. BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO, Campogiovanni 1995
This sumptuous, full-bodied wine is ruby red in color, with garnet
hues. Its bouquet is intense and fruity, with a flavor that is ample
and well-defined, with plum skin, berry, violet, pepper, crushed
fruit and medium tannins, coming to a medium finish.

453. LUCE, Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi
A rich and powerful, full-bodied Super Tuscan, consisting of a
special blend of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. This wine has
a deep ruby color, with a highly concentrated flavor including
hints of raspberry fruit and notes of cocoa/mocha and vanilla.
The taste is full, rich and elegant, with well-integrated tannins,
complete with a long and balanced finish.

454. BAROLO, Collina Serragrilli 1997
This limited production wine is an austere and noble barolo having
a magnificent bright ruby red color, with orange reflections. Its
persuasive aroma of fruit and flowers with hints of spice, follows into
the velvety and amiable palate, coming to a warm, smooth, oaky finish.

455. SANT’ ANTIMO SUMMAS, Castello Banfi
This wine is a masterpiece. It is a tight and extremely well-made
wine with aromas of red licorice and blackberries, with hints of
cloves. It shows an impressive silky texture with complex flavors
in a full body. The tannins are also full, yet polished and velvety,
with a medium finish.

456. SANGIOVETO DI TOSCANA, Coltibuono 1995
This is a subtle red with a deep color that is almost black. It has
lavender, mint and dried cherry aromas, and is full-bodied, with
super well-integrated tannins, and a silky texture on the finish.

457. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, “Oakville”, Robert Mondavi 1998
This intense wine has a muscular structure, supple and rich with
the complex flavors of cassis, wild blackberries, currant, plum,
spices, cedar, vanilla and truffles, nicely enhanced by the long,
velvety finish.

460. AMARONE, Bertani 1995
One of the world’s most powerful dry reds. This selection is floral
and smoky, with ripe fruit on the nose. It’s full-bodied, with a thick
texture, and a long, raisiny, orange peel finish.

461. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Chateau Montelena 1998
This is a full bodied, elegant and balanced wine. The palate is rich with
supple currant, herb and ripe black berry flavors with a hints of vanilla,
that are fine and elegant. It finishes with fine tannins and earthy anise
notes that are superb.

462. OPUS ONE, Rothschild and Mondavi 1998
This selection is an immense wine. It has oaky and mineral aromas,
with flavors that are elegant, polished, supple and complex, with pretty
currant, cedar, anise, sage and tar notes. The tannins are very firm,
coming to a perfect finish.

463. CABERNET SAUVIGNON “Reserve”, Robert Mondavi 1999
This seamless and sophisticated wine combines ripe, complex, richly
flavored fruit with impeccable balance and finesse, and creamy texture.
The black cherry, currant, anise, herb, coffee and mocha are beautifully
woven together, giving it depth and complexity while maintaining
elegance and grace, with a tremendous finish.
